Check-In and Out:

Check-In time is from 2pm.

Check-Out time is 10am.

Please let our Guest Relations team know what time you would depart as they need to be at the property when you depart to collect the keys from you. Should you require a later departure, please let the Guest Relations team know beforehand – this can unfortunately not be guaranteed as it depends on occupancy levels and future bookings.

Security:

Access to The Studios building is only allowed to guests that have a booking with us. All guests MUST be announced, registered, and granted access by the host and by the Studios Concierge during the check-in process.

There is a 24/7 security occupation at the reception as well as at the garage.

In case of any Security issues, please contact the security desk: +27 21 422-2339.

Keys:

Please remember to lock all doors and windows before you leave the apartment. Don’t forget the keys inside!

You will be given one set of keys:

Main door, gate, grey fob to access main building security doors and a parking access remote.

A key for the door to the roof terrace is in the door which should be locked when not in use as it can also be opened from the outside. Please do not remove it from the door!

Housekeeping:

Housekeeping is not included in your stay. A housekeeper can be arranged at an additional cost. Please let the Guest Relations team know 24-48 hours in advance. The costs are as follows:

Monday to Friday – R550.00

Saturday – R650.00

Sunday / Public Holiday – R750.00

Parking:

The Parking entrance is at 63 Rose Street, Bay 502 is to the right as you enter the parking garage.

Please refrain from using other bays to avoid a fine.

Use the pink button on the remote to open/close the sliding gate.

Use the blue button to open/close the white roller shutter between 8pm and 6am.

Appliances and Equipment:

You will note a welcome pack at the property for you. This consists of coffee pods, milk, biscuits, water, sugar, salt & pepper, and olive oil. You are more than welcome to use any of the spices in the cupboard that’s available.

Above the washing machine we established a “Sustainability Cupboard”, so that any unopened and unused food and things left behind don’t go to waste.

There is also a Medicine Box with First Aid stuff and collected items.

The principle is simple:

Feel free to use what you need but leave something as well.

If unopened food needs to be cooled, leave it in the fridge or freeze it.

We do hope this will also create a feeling of coming home as there is nothing worse than empty cupboards when arriving on an empty stomach.

Adapters:

The apartment is equipped with European sockets, should you require an adapter to South African plugs, you will find two black adapters in the cupboard next to the fridge. Please put them back after use.

Phones and USB-appliances can be charged in the kitchen and at each bedside.

Cooking:

The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, an extractor as well as an oven and a microwave. The gas bottle is outside on the balcony in the black cupboard, there is also a spare one. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Fridge and Freezer:

The fridge provides ice cubes and chilled water. Therefore, the small water container inside the fridge needs to be refilled frequently.

Wine fridge:

Store your wine at your selected temperature.

Washing machine:

Please only use pods to wash as the top drawer doesn’t come out far enough to be filled due to the cupboard size. There is a yellow funnel in the cutlery drawer to fill in softener when needed.

Tumble Dryer:

Please only operate with the cupboard door opened and empty the tank and the fluff filter after every use. Please don’t use it during load shedding!

Samsung TV and Movie box:

Please only use the remote on the coffee table.

Just by turning on the box underneath the TV, the system will automatically guide you to the menu, press Startup Show and Studio502guest (the other two icons are our private ones and should not be used) and you will have access to the newest movies, TV shows, Series and Live TV worldwide. There you can also log-in with your Netflix account. The return button above the volume will get you back to the previous menu.

If any problems occur, please contact Kurt via What’s App: +27 78 346-5628.

Blinds:

The living room window has got two big blinds that can be controlled over Shelly with one of the two Samsung pads. The guest bedroom has a manual pleated blind as well as the terrace door and the Velux windows upstairs. Please move them gently!

Windows and Doors:

Our windows are triple glazed and tinted so they keep out loud noises and heat.

The balcony door is a Lift-Sliding Door!

To open it lift the lever of the LEFT door completely to the top and then do the same on the other side. Then you can easily slide it open. To close it, start with the left door and close it completely before closing the right side. That way it closes correctly.

The door to the terrace is a Three-Way Balcony Door!

To close it, pull the lever all the way down, that way you can lock it. To open it, put the lever to 3 o’clock and to use it as a window, put the lever to 12 o’clock and gently pull the door towards you.

Air-condition and Heating:

There are four air-condition units. They can be controlled over the Samsung Pads. Open the ONECTA-Daikin App and turn on the required unit. Fine adjustments can be made by clicking on the unit and picking a temperature or a mode.

Please don’t turn the fan up too high in the living room as the light bulbs will move strongly. We recommend the pre-set streaming.

Jacuzzi Bathtub:

The Bathtub’s Instructions Manual can be found in the Master Bathroom.

Please read before use!

Solar Lamps:

There are three Lotus shaped lamps in the living room. Just put them out in the sun, they charge automatically and provide a nice candle- like light when it gets darker. They can also be used on the rooftop terrace.

Load Shedding:

Cape Rise Luxury Loft is equipped with a battery/inverter that provides electricity during the times of load shedding.

The lights in the apartment will all work during this time as well as the fridge, wine fridge, washing machine, water geyser and gas hob.

In order to have electricity up to 4 hours from the battery, the dishwasher, oven, microwave, the air condition units, the Jacuzzi bathtub and the sockets in the kitchen will not work. There is one reserved for maintenance or the tea kettle underneath the Control Tablet marked with XXX.

When the power comes on again, it might occur that the light switches don’t work at first before they are again fed into the network.

However, control over the Shelly App/ Samsung Pad does work!

The main elevator just around the corner does not work during load shedding. You can use the stairs all the way down to the reception or use the Goods Elevator.

After locking the door just turn right and follow the corridor along on the fifth floor to the glass door and take the elevator down to G (car park). There you can exit on Rose Street through the gate. You may also take a double left after getting off the elevator and exit through the door in front at the end of the garage, take the steps and turn left after the next door again. Those steps will also lead you to the reception.

Rooftop Terrace:

The wind can pick up anytime, pool towels, the Yoga mat, the outside carpet, seat cushions (all to be found in the wardrobe) and clothes left on the terrace can fly away with no recovery possible. We placed a gas BBQ/Braai there and a cement seating group to enjoy the summer evenings there.

Pool:

The pool is situated on the 3rd level with access by elevators and the grey security tag. Drinking and smoking is not allowed at the pool. Please be mindful that the sound echoes throughout the building.

Wastage:

We have implemented environmentally friendly procedures to reduce waste and are grateful for your collaboration to using electricity, water, towels, and plastic sparingly!

If you want to dispose of your waste, the waste bins of the house are situated near the gate of the garage.
